Talk Talk is the debut single of the American garage rock band, The Music Machine. The song was released in November 1966, and produced the band's only Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It was then included on their debut album, Turn On The Music Machine. The Music Machine was practicing the song before any interest from record producers. Sean Bonniwell strived to perfect the sound he had been experimenting with in preparation for a record deal. The band regularly played at an American Legion. I won't cry out for justiceAdmit that I was wrongI'll stay in hibernation'Til the talk subsides to goneMy social life's a dudMy name is really mudI'm up to here in liesGuess I'm down to sizeTo size. It's hard to believe that the brash and boisterous Music Machine began as a congregation of Los Angeles-based ex-folkies. Guitaristvocalist Sean Bonniwell took the quintet into the Top 20 number 15 in November of 1966 with the frenetic and punkish Talk Talk. One of the more obvious inspirations for Talk Talk is Arthur Lee and Love's attitude-heavy remake of Burt Bacharach's Little Red Book, especially notable in the incessant pulsating beat, while it is the defiance of the Who's Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere and the Seeds' Pushin' Too Hard that virtually leaps out of the grooves
